Group Brings Pro-Vegan Message to Kent During Accused Cannibal’s Trial

Kent – Following news that local man Dale Bolinger allegedly plotted to kill and eat a teenage girl, PETA staged a pro-vegan demonstration that asked meat-eaters to think about the ways in which animals are slaughtered for their flesh.
Stripping down to nothing but panties and paint markings that mimic a butcher’s diagram of body parts, a PETA supporter caused a stir outside the court where Bolinger was on trial today, standing behind a poster reading, “All Animals Have the Same Parts: Try Vegan”.
PETA’s point? That animals are made of flesh, blood and bone, just as humans are. They have the same bodily organs, the same five senses and the same emotions, ranging from joy and contentment to depression and fear.
“Flesh is flesh, whether it comes from a human or non-human animal”, says PETA UK Associate Director Mimi Bekhechi. “People are naturally revolted by the idea of eating a human corpse, and we’re hoping that our action will encourage them to make the connection and stop eating dead animals.”
Billions of individual animals are violently killed for their flesh every year – many spend their entire lives confined to filthy, cramped conditions and denied everything that’s natural and important to them.
