  • Liverpool

    Down the Hatch

This comfort-food joint is 100% animal-free. The vast menu features crispy seitan wings, burgers, mac and cheese, loaded fries, vegan chicken curry, and hearty meatballs. Try the Zinger burger with fried “chicken” topped with a hash brown and their famous Zinger sauce. Upgrade to Flaming Zinger sauce if your taste buds can cope.

  • Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole

    Chicken & Blues

The Chicken & Blues vegan menu is packed with classics. We love the Tex Mex wrap, which features THIS Isn’t Chicken BBQ pieces, spicy rice, lettuce, and your choice of sauce in a grilled tortilla. You can also get vegan chicken tenders or smokey BBQ cauliflower wings on the side.

It’s no wonder Chick’N’Sours secured the top stop for best vegan chicken in PETA’s 2024 Vegan Food Awards. The Vegan MK2 consists of a crispy vegan patty, green slaw, ginger miso, kimchi, and sriracha mayonnaise. Pair with a side of fries or bang bang cucumbers for the ultimate combo.

  • Nando’s

PETA and our supporters urged Nando’s to add vegan chicken to its menu, and they did. They call it the Great Imitator, but don’t let the name fool you – this is the real deal. Made from pea protein, it’s available as a wrap, or as an add on to the spicy rice bowl– and Nando’s says that it tastes so much like its PERi-PERi chicken that people will find it hard to tell the difference. You know who can? Chickens.

  • Oowee Vegan

This popular Bristol restaurant was named Deliveroo’s “Restaurant of the Year” in 2019 and has since added locations in Brighton and London. There’s an abundance of options to choose from, but our favourite is The Big Bacon Swiss, made with crispy chick’n, vegan baconaise, smoked vegan gouda, “bacon,” a hash brown, and lettuce. Now that is a vegan burger!

Chickens Are Magnificent

Unfortunately, most humans know more about how chickens taste than who they are.

Each chicken has a unique personality. They love to play and will run, jump, and sunbathe when given the chance. They are inquisitive and clever and make excellent parents. Humans have identified more than 24 distinct vocalisations that chickens use to communicate a variety of messages, such as warning their companions about different types of predators.

Chickens Need Your Help

The vast majority of chickens on UK farms are forced to grow so big that they often have trouble standing up. They never get to see the sun and are unable to do any of the things that come naturally to them – and all of them are eventually slaughtered.

The most effective thing you can do to help chickens is to stop eating meat and eggs. Going vegan is simple – take our 30-day vegan pledge, and we’ll guide you through the transition to a compassionate lifestyle. If you’re vegan already, please share the pledge with your friends and family to encourage them to save lives, too.
