Great Vegan Bake-Off 2015 – the Winner
2015 was the Great Vegan Bake-Off’s most massive year yet!
We invited bloggers from all backgrounds to put their baking skills to the test and share with us their favourite vegan creations. Vegan baking is a great way to impress both friends and family with delicious cruelty-free food – and of course, it offers a fantastic opportunity to show off your skills in the kitchen, as demonstrated by our finalists’ creations.
Choosing the most scrumptious-looking entry from amongst the 10 finalists was a difficult task, but your votes have been counted, and our judges have made up their minds.
The winner is …
… the chocolate and beetroot cake from Veronica and Amy of Wrapped in Newspaper!
Sisters Veronica, a charity communications executive from Chesham, and Amy, an architect from Bethnal Green, are the co-bloggers behind Wrapped in Newspaper. Together, they whipped up the most delectable chocolate and beetroot cake you’ve ever seen. See the full recipe.
And the two runners-up this year are…
… Charis’ salted caramel popcorn macarons from Floral Frosting and Laura’s bramble polenta cake from The Whole Ingredient!
Charis, the blogger behind Floral Frosting, is a dedicated baker and mum of two from Kent. Her popcorn macaroons demonstrated just how creative vegan baking can be.
Laura from The Whole Ingredient lives in Berkshire and is a writer and editor. Her entry in the competition was a rich bramble and polenta cake, which had everyone’s mouth watering.
Thanks to everyone who entered and the hundreds of vegan baking fans who voted to help us decide who we should choose as the winner. PETA chose the winner based on several factors, including vote count.
Baking should be a joyful experience for everyone. You can spare the lives of countless animals – and wow your family and friends at the same time – by choosing to make your favourite recipes vegan.
