VIDEO: Ballet Dancer Sylvie Guillem Raises the ‘Barre’ for Animals
Iconic dancer Sylvie Guillem shows how anyone can jump-start the new year by switching to healthy and compassionate vegan meals.
The beautifully shot video features the retired ballet star – called “the greatest dancer of our time” – candidly explaining why she’s happy she went vegan and how she hopes to inspire others to do the same.
“Animals feel pain and love and joy, just as humans” do, she explains. But in the industrialised meat, dairy, and egg industries, animals are denied everything that’s natural and important to them. “Some of them don’t even feel the fresh air”, she says. “They don’t see the light.”
A compassionate plant-based lifestyle is the obvious choice for people who are worried about cruelty to animals, climate change, or their health. Vegan living is becoming more and more popular every day, and as a result, cruelty-free options abound in restaurants, in supermarkets, and on the high street – and January is a great time to start exploring them.
As Guillem says in the video, “A drop of water can’t stop a fire alone, but a drop of water, plus another one, plus another one, then you have the rain, and the rain can stop the fire”.
Whether for animals, your health, or the planet, join Guillem and help stop the fire by choosing vegan meals.
