Second Day of Action Puts Pressure Mounts on TUI to Cut Ties With SeaWorld
From Brighton to Amsterdam, PETA and our affiliates coordinated a series of demonstrations outside TUI locations urging the company to stop selling tickets to SeaWorld. This was the second such day of action – the first was held in December.
Following the recent death of another orca, Kayla – who endured a miserable lifetime of confinement at SeaWorld Orlando in Florida – PETA supporters stood together to tell TUI that endorsing such cruelty is appalling and unacceptable and that enough is enough.
To date, over 47,000 people have written to TUI urging the company to stop promoting SeaWorld’s orca prisons, where intelligent marine mammals have no choice but to swim in endless circles or float lifelessly inside tiny concrete tanks.
Many kind activists took part in the day of action:
St Ives
Britson
Cheltenham
New Malden
Wood Green, London
Beckenham, London
Great Malvern
Spalding
Brighton
Leicester
Birmingham
Cardiff
Glasgow
Lincoln
People also took to social media to ask TUI to stop supporting orca abuse:
@TUIUK I’m disappointed that you continue to endorse this cruelty. Please do the right thing and stop supporting orca abuse. Orcas belong in the ocean, not concrete tanks. STOP supporting SeaWorld #TUISeaWorldCruelty

Last year, following intense pressure from PETA, travel giant Thomas Cook announced that it would stop selling tickets to all parks that confine orcas in the name of entertainment.
