The Kooples Launches Brand-New ‘PETA-Approved Vegan’ Clutch Bag
Following its decision to ban fur, The Kooples has reaffirmed its commitment to animal protection by creating a “PETA-Approved Vegan” clutch bag, with all profits donated to PETA France.
Launched in time for Valentine’s Day and designed in the brand’s signature chic, rock ‘n’ roll style, the faux–foal skin and vegan leather leopard-print clutch carries the “PETA-Approved Vegan” label, which certifies that it’s free of animal-derived materials.
“Through the launch of this original accessory, we aim to promote environment- and animal-friendly practices,” says The Kooples Chief Executive Nicolas Dreyfus. “Our approach also contributes to the awareness and importance of making fashion a more ethical and sustainable industry.”
The collaboration follows The Kooples’ September 2016 pledge to ban fur. PETA exposés have revealed that animals on fur farms spend their lives confined to cramped, filthy wire cages before they’re killed by electrocution, gassing, or poisoning. As more and more people learn about this cruelty, consumers are calling for innovative vegan fabrics, which are infinitely kinder to animals and better for the environment.
The clutch, priced at £45, is available in all The Kooples flagship stores internationally as well as online here.
What You Can Do
The best way to help animals suffering in the fashion industry is not to buy or wear their skin, fur, wool, or feathers. Visit our “PETA-Approved Vegan” page for more information on finding fashionable animal-free brands and products:
