Why Are Kate Moss and YSL Still Promoting Fur in 2021?
Why are Kate Moss and Saint Laurent glorifying fur in 2021? It’s pathetic and cruel.
That’s why PETA protesters converged at Saint Laurent’s Paris shop holding giant posters showing Kate Moss in a recent Saint Laurent campaign wearing a fox-fur coat alongside an injured fox on a fur farm and the slogan “Who Wore It Best?”

Fur Is Dead
As PETA exposés show, many animals killed for their fur spend their entire lives in cramped cages. They have no opportunity to engage in natural kinds of behaviour, such as playing, running, finding food, and raising a family. The stress of this extreme confinement often drives them insane, and fighting, self-mutilation, and cannibalism are common.

At the end of their miserable lives, they face a horrific death – often by gassing, electrocution, or poisoning.
Public Health Hazard
Filthy fur factory conditions have also led to a growing number of outbreaks of COVID-19 among minks. When animals are confined next to each other in wire cages, it’s easy for diseases to spread through the exchange of urine, excrement, pus, and blood.
A mutated version of the virus that originated in minks has now been identified in several countries and poses a risk to the effectiveness of future vaccines.
Other species reared on fur farms – such as foxes and raccoon dogs – are also known to be able to become infected with SARS-CoV–related viruses.
Compassion Is Fashionable
Today’s shoppers know that nothing looks as good as compassion feels. More and more people are opting for luxurious vegan materials that don’t involve gassing or electrocuting and skinning sensitive foxes.
Hundreds of top designers and retailers have dropped fur, including Armani, Prada, Chanel, Maison Margiela, Gucci, Donna Karan, Michael Kors, and Versace.
What You Can Do
Ask Saint Laurent to be a saint for animals by ditching fur:
Speak out against the killing of millions of animals in horrific ways each year for the cruel fur industry. Take action against fur in more ways today, and ask your friends to do the same:
