Legendary Activist to Run the London Marathon
Back when PETA’s vice president of corporate projects, Dawn Carr, first began working for the UK team, a headline in The Sunday Times labelled her an “enemy of the people” above a cheeky cartoon of her hugging a fish.
Fast-forward to today and she’s helping huge businesses like Nando’s, Papa Johns’s, and Burger King make it easier than ever for consumers to find delicious vegan fare.
Perhaps you are one of the 20,000 people who signed PETA’s petition urging Greggs to offer a vegan sausage roll – something Dawn first suggested to the company three years before the item was released, making a huge splash in the media.
Soon, Dawn will be taking on a very different challenge: running 26.2 miles in her first-ever marathon. Her mission? To raise a whopping £26,200 for animals with the help of kind PETA supporters.
Every pound you give will push her closer to that ambitious fundraising goal – and serve as a virtual high five during her weeks of training leading up to the London Marathon on 21 April.
Entries for PETA’s 2024 Marathon for Animals are now closed. If you’d like to find out about other fundraising opportunities for PETA, you can register your interest here or let us know at [email protected].
