Animation Company Behind ‘Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget’ Nabs PETA’s ‘Company of the Year’ Award

In recognition of its role in producing the newly released film, Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget – which shines a spotlight on the fact that chickens are sensitive, curious individuals who want to live in peace, not be hacked to pieces – Bristol-based animation company Aardman Animations has won PETA’s 2023 Company of the Year Award.

The highly anticipated and critically acclaimed sequel to Chicken Run (2000) – the award-winning film which prompted the Oscars to create an animation category – uses a light-hearted tone to expose viewers to the horrors that await chickens whose personalities are ignored and body parts are battered and eaten. The film follows the antics of Ginger, Rocky, and the rest of the flock as they plot to rescue their friend from a chicken farm and save her from ending up as nuggets in a bucket. In real life, chickens look out for each other, and hens are excellent mothers.

Kudos to Aardman for encouraging millions of children and adults to see chickens as individuals like themselves!

Try the New Plant-Based Nuggets at Tesco

The film is sparking huge interest in vegan eating, and Aardman has already teamed up with Fry Family Food to create plant-based nuggets.

The Chicken Run–branded product will be available at selected supermarkets, including Tesco, throughout January to coincide with Veganuary.
