Social Media Officer

Senior Digital Marketing Manager
Salary:
£30,000–£32,000 (depending on experience)
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee PETA’s social media strategy, coordinate its presence across social media platforms and grow its audiences
- Develop original content and suggest creative ways to engage PETA’s audiences on social media and facilitate online conversations about animal rights
- Explore creative ways to use the latest news and trending topics to challenge speciesism and keep PETA’s feed relevant, current, and provocative
- Collaborate with the online video producer and PETA US teams to boost video views across all PETA platforms
- Assess campaign performance and engagement by gathering and analysing metrics and report findings to the relevant teams
- Stay on top of social media trends and share them with the wider team and other PETA entities
- Work as part of the online marketing team to ensure that online campaigns are as effective as possible
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Strong writing skills and an understanding of what resonates with people online
- At least two years of professional experience in running social media accounts on platforms including X, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok and an understanding of the unique benefits and challenges of each platform
- Proven ability to deliver creative, engaging, and compelling content
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a large workload
- Availability to monitor social media during weekends and evenings
- Extremely social media–savvy and on top of creative trends and culturally relevant moments
- Good eye for design and confident user of Canva or similar photo editing software
- Strong work ethic with a focus on efficiency and exceptional attention to detail
- Proactive attitude and the ability to think creatively and come up with new ideas for promoting PETA’s core mission
- Strong analytical abilities and experience measuring and monitoring the effectiveness of online campaigns
- Proven ability to work as part of a team
- Knowledge of animal rights issues and commitment to and enthusiasm for PETA’s objectives
- Previous campaigning experience beneficial
- Adherence to a vegan lifestyle strongly preferred
