Rescuers Save Animals From Typhoon’s Flooding – Help Them Now

Little Carina was all alone – suffering from parasites and the maddening itch of mange that interrupted any rest she could get – when Typhoon Gaemi (aka “Super Typhoon Carina”) came roaring through, bringing torrential rains and flooding to the Philippines. A kind family noticed her and scooped her up, sheltering her in the second story of their home.

The typhoon caused catastrophic flooding, with water reaching second-story levels in some areas, displacing countless individuals of all species.

PETA Asia sped to an evacuation center, providing food and free veterinary care to animals stranded there. Once the floodwaters receded, the team hit the streets, distributing more than 600 pounds of dog and cat food and providing animals in need with on-the-spot treatment. The team also rescued sweet Carina, who is now recovering from her frightening ordeal and will soon be living her best life with a caring family they found.
