PETA’s Virtual Reality Experience ‘Abduction’ Tours the UK
Throughout August, PETA’s virtual reality experience Abduction is touring the UK. Once participants don the headset, they’re immersed in horror, placed in the position of someone who has been abducted by extraterrestrials and awakens in a laboratory. They watch as other humans are used as test subjects in experiments – knowing that they’ll be next.
This unique VR experience encourages empathy for the millions of animals who endure mutilation, poisoning, psychological torment, and death in UK laboratories.

Virtual Experience for Some, Reality for Others
For some, this is only an immersive experience – but it’s reality for thousands of frightened and confused animals.
Implants drilled into monkeys’ skulls, piglets fed Viagra, mice locked in a “fear chamber” – this distressing list might sound like a line-up of new Black Mirror episodes, but they are all real experiments that animals have endured in British laboratories. The Home Office gave the green light for all these nightmarish procedures to take place in Britain.
More than 2.76 million needless procedures were inflicted on animals in British laboratories in 2022.
Take Action Now
Many people aren’t aware that rabbits, dogs, cats, and other animals are still being tormented in miserable, barren laboratories. PETA is on a mission to open the public’s eyes to this cruelty, help them understand what it feels like, and motivate them to join our call for a switch to superior, non-animal research.
Take action now and urge your MP to support a ban on animal testing:
