London – Today, as part of PETA’s “Veganuary” push for everyone to go vegan in 2023 and beyond, a pack of supporters in dinosaur costumes stormed Central London with an urgent message: consuming meat, eggs, and dairy is primitive!

Images are available here, and video footage can be found here.

“Condoning animal slaughter for a fleeting moment of taste is out of step with today’s values of compassion and environmental stewardship,” says PETA Senior Campaigns Manager Kate Werner. “PETA encourages everyone to evolve by going vegan in 2023 and let animal exploitation go the way of the dinosaurs.”

Veganuary is an annual global campaign that promotes going vegan for the month of January to help animals, slash greenhouse gas emissions, and improve one’s personal health. Those who stay vegan all year can expect to spare nearly 200 animals a miserable life and a terrifying death. Pigs, chickens, cows, and other animals exploited in the meat, egg, and dairy industries are often crammed into filthy, windowless sheds where they spend the majority of their lives without sunlight or fresh air.

PETA – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat” and which opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview – offers a free vegan starter kit on its website. For more information, please visit PETA’s website or follow the group on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
