Lordi Bands Together With PETA to Condemn ‘Monstrous’ Tests on Animals
Heavy metal band Lordihas teamed up with PETA for a new campaign denouncing something truly horrifying: invasive and painful experiments are still being conducted on animals in the EU with no plan in place to end the suffering.
The band is supporting the Save Cruelty Free Cosmetics European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI), started by PETA entities as well as Dove, The Body Shop, and more than 100 animal protection organisations.
Together, we are calling on the EU to uphold and strengthen the ban on animal testing for cosmetics and to establish a plan to end all animal testing.
“The EU ban prohibiting cosmetics testing on animals is under threat because the Helsinki-based European Chemicals Agency is demanding that thousands of animals be subjected to cruel tests. This goes against everything the ban stands for, and it’s up to each one of us to save this important piece of legislation. Animals’ lives are worth more than a lipstick or a bottle of shampoo – only real monsters think otherwise. So, if you’re an EU citizen, join us in signing this European Citizens’ Initiative.”

Animals Are STILL Used in Tests in Europe
Despite setting a global precedent, the EU ban on cosmetics testing on animals is being torn apart. New and avoidable animal testing requirements have been introduced for cosmetics ingredients that have been safely used for years.
This means that in EU laboratories, thousands of animals are STILL forced to inhale or ingest cosmetics ingredients and millions more may be drugged, poisoned, or burned in all kinds of horrific experiments.
You Have the Power to End Tests on Animals
Europe urgently needs a plan to end all animal testing. That’s why PETA has helped set up the ECI, which is a formal mechanism for EU citizens to have a say in the EU law-making process.
We’re asking that the cosmetics ban be upheld and strengthened to end these tests. Furthermore, the ECI calls on authorities not to add any new animal testing requirements for the management of chemicals and on the EU to commit to ending all experiments on animals.
To succeed, the ECI needs support from more than 1 million EU citizens.
Are You an EU Citizen?
If so, please sign the Save Cruelty Free Cosmetics ECI. It’s a formal initiative that allows you to have a say in EU law, so it will require some additional details such as your address and other identification.
Please take a minute for animals and vote for a world in which they no longer suffer in cruel cosmetics tests:
Not an EU Citizen?
Please share the link to the ECI and ask your European friends to sign it. Animals need 1 million EU citizens to take action, so every signature counts:
