Will Coldplay Go ‘All Green’?
Following reports that Coldplay is aiming to make its Music of the Spheres world tour as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible, PETA has sent a letter calling on the rock group to go all green by serving only vegan foods during each concert.
Cutting damaging animal-derived foods from concert venues is a no-brainer. PETA has also offered to connect the band with world-class vegan chefs to help make it happen.
But why?
‘The Scientist’ Agrees: Animal Agriculture Is Killing Our Planet
Raising and killing animals for food contributes to deforestation, water shortages, air pollution, and other environmental problems.
It’s little wonder, then, that the United Nations states that a transition to vegan eating is urgently needed to prevent the worst effects of the climate crisis. And this can be as simple as swapping beef burgers for bean burgers.
Eating vegan can reduce a person’s dietary carbon footprint by up to 73%.
A Vegan ‘Universe’ Is Kinder to Animals
Each person who goes vegan spares nearly 200 animals every year daily suffering and a terrifying death.
Cows, chickens, pigs, sheep, and fish have feelings, thoughts, and personalities, just like we do. Yet the meat, egg, dairy, and fishing industries treat them like machines, with cruelty that’s hard to swallow.
Vegan Living Can ‘Fix You’
Eating processed meat increases a person’s chances of developing cancer, and research suggests that consuming animals’ flesh, milk, and eggs could be as detrimental to human health as smoking.
Vegans have stronger immune systems and are less vulnerable to cancer, diabetes, arthritis, and other diseases.
Eating vegan also helps reduce the likelihood of future pandemics.
