All About Animals: Primary Teachers: No One Likes a Bully
How does this fit into the Framework? Pupils will learn that all animals should be treated with respect. They will also learn the difference between right and wrong and fair and unfair.
Teachers’ Note: Ask the questions below, then ask students to write essays to explain why it is wrong to bully people and animals. The essays can be done in class or at home. Alternatively, divide students into small groups to have discussions about bullying instead of setting a written exercise.
Lesson Plan: No One Likes a Bully
1. A bully is a person who uses his or her strength to frighten or hurt weaker people. Why is bullying wrong?
2. If it’s wrong to bully people, is it also wrong to bully animals, who are often smaller and weaker than we are?
