PETAcampus reps are kicking off Freshers Week with compassion by sharing the animal rights message with university students across the UK.

They’ll be giving out delicious Tofurky Kielbasa vegan sausages at stalls around their campuses and at their freshers fairs while displaying signs reading, Try Vegan Meat and featuring an image of a pig next to the words IME, Not MEAT

By sharing tasty vegan food, distributing animal rights leaflets, and giving away copies of PETA’s vegan starter kit, they’ll be inspiring fellow students to go vegan and reaching thousands with a very important message: animals are not ours to eat.

Who Are PETA
s Campus Reps?

This term, students at 22 UK universities are taking action for animals and standing up against speciesism through PETAs Campus Rep Programme. PETA provides them with materials such as leaflets, stickers, and banners, in addition to giving them support and training to organise eye-catching, exciting events that get other students interested in animal rights issues.

Each term, the campus reps hold at least six outreach events to raise awareness of the abuse and exploitation of animals.

Why Stop Consuming Meat and Other Animal-Based Foods?

Pigs, chickens, cows, sheep, fish, and other animals on farms have feelings, thoughts, and personalities. Yet the meat, egg, dairy, and fishing industries subject them to miserable conditions, immense suffering, and violent slaughter

Females are repeatedly forcibly impregnated. Babies are torn away from their mothers, mutilated, and kept in filthy, severely crowded conditions. Then, often when theyre only a few months old, they endure a stressful and terrifying trip to the abattoir, where many are killed while still conscious.

These animals never get to raise their families, root around in the soil, build nests, or do anything else that is natural and important to them. Most wont even breathe fresh air until the day theyre loaded onto lorries headed to the abattoir.

The best way to help these animals is by refusing to support their exploitation – and going vegan.
