Louise Hird Awarded Overnight Stay in the World’s First All-Vegan Luxury Hotel Suite
Selby, North Yorkshire – An impressive combination of wisdom, animal activism, and compassion – not to mention the highest number of votes – has secured Louise Hird the title in PETA’s inaugural UK and Ireland’s Hottest Vegan Over 50 Competition. She will receive a complimentary one-night stay for two people in the world’s first all-vegan hotel suite, inside the five-star Hilton London Bankside Hotel.
Hird has been vegan for five years and speaks up for animals at every opportunity. She raised all three of her daughters vegetarian from birth, and her eldest is now vegan, too. Alongside caring for her daughter who has epilepsy, she runs food blog In the Kitchen With Em & Lou and has written competition-winning short stories.

In addition to saving the lives of nearly 200 animals every year, people who go vegan could very well be extending their own lives, too, as vegans are less prone to suffering from heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and obesity and are, on average, fitter and trimmer than meat-eaters are.
