HASTINGS’ BAY TREE HOUSE B&B WINS SPOT ON PETA’S LIST OF BEST VEGAN-FRIENDLY GETAWAYS

Animal-Friendly B&B Recognised as Top Spot for Weekend Jaunt

Hastings, East Sussex – Ahead of the bank holiday weekend, PETA has shared its list of the best accommodation for “Vegan-Friendly Weekend Breaks in the UK” – and Hastings’ award-winning and dog-friendly Bay Tree House has nabbed a spot. The B&B is known for its organic, vegan continental breakfast of fresh bread, juices, cereals, and fruit.

“Bay Tree House is the perfect place to escape reality while still being kind to animals and the environment,” says PETA Director of Vegan Corporate Projects Dawn Carr. “All the hotels on PETA’s list are revolutionising the hospitality industry by offering vegan meals that can be enjoyed by everyone.”

PETA’s motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”, and the group opposes speciesism, the human-supremacist view that other species are nothing more than commodities. In addition to sparing the lives of nearly 200 animals every year, going vegan also reduces a person’s risk of suffering from heart disease, strokes, diabetes, obesity, cancer, and numerous other health concerns. These are just some of the reasons why millions of Brits have chosen to ditch animal-derived foods.

Other hotels that made the cut include Ambleside Manor in the Lake District National Park, Bleujennow in Cornwall, and Loaf B&B in Northumberland. The complete list is available here.

PETA offers a free vegan starter kit, which can be ordered here. For more information, please visit PETA.org.uk.
