I’d Rather Run a Marathon Than Wear Fur/Eat Animals/Go to the Circus/Do Anything That Harms Animals
My name is Tess Pugh, and I’m a PETA marathon runner!
On 17 April, I’ll be running 26.2 miles through the streets of London to raise as much money as I can to help PETA fund its vital work to save animals.
I live in Buckinghamshire with my husband and our two girls, aged 8 and 10, and our 18-year-old deaf cat. This is the first marathon I’ve taken part in, and I really want to make it a huge success. Having been the laziest person alive until well into my 20s, I eventually became a gym bunny. When I was about 30, I took up running with a close friend, and I’ve never looked back!
Now I want to combine my two loves – running and animals – and put all my hard-earned miles to good use by running for PETA in the world’s most famous marathon.
I’ve always loved animals and went vegetarian at about 20. PETA’s work to save animals from abuse on fur farms and factory farms as well as in vivisection laboratories and the entertainment industry is close to my heart – and that’s why I support them. Won’t you please support me by sponsoring my marathon run?
Thank you.
