London – In honour of World Vegan Month, Zizzi is teaming up with PETA to offer an exclusive 30 per cent discount on its vegan menu every Sunday through Thursday during the month of November.

Diners can visit Zizzi.co.uk for a unique discount code to apply to Zizzi’s newly expanded vegan menu, including the PETA Vegan Food Award–winning Vegan Rustica Margherita, a crispy base topped with dairy-free, organic rice–based vegan mozzarella. Diners can also enjoy pizzas and pastas topped with a variety of delicious veggies, including butternut squash, caramelised balsamic onions, field mushrooms, and more. Zizzi also offers vegan desserts, including the decadent dessert calzone, served warm and topped with dairy-free coconut-and-chocolate-ripple gelato.

“Given that popular restaurants such as Zizzi are dishing up delicious plant-based pizzas, pastas, salads, desserts, and more, it’s easier than ever to go vegan”, says PETA’s Manager of Special Projects Dawn Carr. “And Zizzi’s hefty World Vegan Month discount comes just in time for those making PETA’s popular 30-day vegan pledge for the month of November.”

PETA – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat” – notes that the demand for dairy-free cheeses, milks, and more is on the rise. According to recent reports, 20 per cent of Brits now include non-dairy milks in their weekly shopping trip, and research group Mintel has found that the market for dairy-milk alternatives has increased by a staggering 155 per cent in the last two years.

In addition to saving many animals every year from daily suffering and a terrifying death, choosing vegan meals is a great way to reduce one’s risk of suffering from heart disease, strokes, diabetes, obesity, and cancer. These are just some of the reasons why millions of British people – including 20 per cent of 16- to 24-year-olds, according to Mintel – are going vegan.

PETA offers a free vegan starter kit here. For more information, please visit PETA.org.uk.
