Uggie Wants You to Adopt, Never Buy

Uggie, the Jack Russell terrier, who stars in the multi-Oscar-winning smash hit The Artist, is helping animals by appearing in a PETA ad.

When Uggie was a puppy, he was rejected by his first two guardians for being too energetic and wild. Uggie was on his way to an animal shelter when dog trainer Omar von Muller heard about the lively Jack Russell terrier.

Omar decided to take Uggie in. He fell in love with the little pooch and soon realised that Uggie had a gift.

Tens of thousands of homeless dogs and cats enter animal shelters every year in the UK and Thousands are euthanised simply because there aren’t enough good homes for them and thousands more are left to languish in the shelters.

Uggie wants his fans to know that buying an animal from a pet shop or a breeder takes a home away from a deserving animal.
