COMPASSIONATE ACTIONS EARN CHESHIRE TEEN AWARD FROM PETA

14-Year-Old Campaigns for Vegan Meals at School, Encourages Neighbours to Go Fur-Free and More

Crewe, Cheshire – Whether he’s handing out leaflets about the cruelty of the fur industry or encouraging his school to offer more vegan lunches, 14-year-old Cheshire resident   never stops encouraging others to help animals. And his efforts are already paying off: his school’s canteen has started to serve vegan sausage rolls that are a huge hit with students, and just last week, Robert organised a free vegan party for his peers, complete with vegan chicken nuggets and other snacks. In recognition of his outstanding efforts, PETA has presented Robert with its prestigious Compassionate Teen Award.

“Robert de Silva’s can-do attitude when it comes to helping animals is proof that there’s no minimum age for making the world a better place”, says PETA Director Mimi Bekhechi. “PETA points to this young man as a fantastic example of how to encourage others to go vegan and spare the lives of many animals every year.”

Robert has received a framed certificate and a T-shirt from PETA, whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat … or abuse in any other way.”
