Tom Hardy and Woodstock Urge You to Adopt
London-born actor and all-round heartthrob Tom Hardy stars in a new PETA advert alongside his rescued dog, Woody!
While he was filming Lawless in Atlanta, Tom, who is usually cast as a bad boy with a tough exterior, saw the homeless Woody wandering the highway. He managed to catch him and bring him home to London, and they’ve been inseparable ever since!
Not every dog is as lucky as Woody. Every year, hundreds of thousands of dogs and cats end up in shelters across the UK and many of them have to be euthanised simply because there aren’t enough good homes. Countless more end up on the street, where they may starve, freeze, get hit by cars or suffer in other ways.
That’s why Tom is encouraging caring people to adopt from local shelters and never buy from breeders or pet shops, which only exacerbate the homeless-animal overpopulation crisis.
Are you ready to add a companion animal to your family? If so, be sure to adopt from a shelter! Every time an animal is purchased from a pet shop or a breeder, an animal in a shelter loses a chance at finding a loving home. Head over to your local animal shelter, where you’re sure to find many eager animals of all breeds, shapes, sizes and ages who’d love to become a member of your family.
