Dave Navarro Bares All For New PETA Anti-Fur Ad

Los Angeles – Anyone who has ever wanted to see just how many tattoos Dave Navarro has under his tight black clothes will get an eyeful in the rocker’s provocative new PETA ad. The heavily inked guitarist – who has played with Jane’s Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns N’ Roses and Camp Freddy – posed completely nude for PETA’s famous “Ink, Not Mink” campaign. The ad was shot by top celebrity photographer Frank W Ockenfels 3.

“There was a time in my life where I would wear over-the-top outfits, and some of those outfits contained fur”, explained Navarro in an exclusive PETA US interview. “[T]hen several years ago, I saw video footage of animals being skinned alive and screaming, and it honestly is the most horrific, inhumane thing I’ve ever seen – a dying, twitching, skinless animal in such terrified shock crying, screaming blood-curdling screams that are so hard to watch and listen to.”

Navarro is the latest celebrity to star in the “Ink, Not Mink” anti-fur ad series. Tommy Lee, Carey Hart, Chester Bennington and Steve O have also participated in “Ink, Not Mink” ads for PETA and its affiliates.

Each year, millions of foxes, minks, coyotes, rabbits and even dogs and cats are bludgeoned to death, electrocuted, strangled with wire nooses or skinned alive – all in the name of fashion. For every cuff, collar, piece of trim or coat made from real fur, an animal suffered a miserable life and an agonising death.
