Hedgehog Crossbow Killings Prompt PETA Offer Of Gbp 1,000 To Help Nab Those Responsible

Cambridgeshire – Following reports that more than 10 hedgehogs were barbarically killed and then lined up close to a school, PETA is offering a reward of up to £1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible. The animals were all found with holes in their bodies suggesting that arrows had been used and then removed. These despicable acts, which took place earlier this month, follow similar incidents in the same area of Cherry Hinton in June last year.

“Someone in Cherry Hinton must know something about the cruel individual or individuals who committed this callous act. We’re calling on anyone with information about the case to come forward”, says PETA spokesperson Yvonne Taylor. “Anyone capable of deliberately causing this kind of suffering to helpless animals demonstrates a very worrying psychological state and must be found.”

Because animals cannot report incidents of abuse against them and can do little to fight back, they are the perfect “practice” victims for those who tend towards violence.

History shows that past incidents involving cruelty to animals regularly appear in the records of serial rapists and murderers. Young killers Mary Bell, Robert Thompson and Jon Venables as well as serial murderers Ian Huntley, Thomas Hamilton (Dunblane massacre), Fred West, Dennis Nilsen, Ian Brady and Raoul Moat all started out by deliberately harming animals.
