Must-Have Goodies for the Ultimate Vegan Christmas Party 2018

The most magical time of the year is here – and it’s even better vegan!

From freezing cold temperatures to early-morning commutes in the dark, it’s easy to get down about winter, so we’ve got some goodies that will put you right in the Christmas spirit.

Whether you’re hosting a ho-ho-holiday dinner to remember or taking a few vegan nibbles to your office party, here’s what’s hitting the shelves this year for the perfect merry (and compassionate) feast:

Waitrose Christmas Range

If you’re after a vegan winter wonderland, rest assured that there’ll be plenty of meat-, dairy-, and egg-free marvels at Waitrose this Christmas.

You can choose from a large selection of canapés to start, including Caramelised Onion & Tomato Tarte Tatins and Pulled Jackfruit Tacos, then go for the Nut & Grain Roast or the Beet Wellingtons as your main, and grab some Chargrilled Sprouts with Smoked Paprika, the creamy Cauliflower & Broccoli Bake, or Parmentier Potatoes with Wessex Stout as sides.

Leave some room for dessert if you can, though, because you can round off your vegan Christmas feast with the Iced Fruit Cake, Chocolate Torte, or Pineapple & Coconut Panna Cotta.

Violife Christmas Cheeseboard

‘Tis the season to be jolly, and there’s nothing that makes us happier than a good vegan cheeseboard. Thankfully, the board of your dreams is arriving at ASDA, Holland & Barrett’s, Morrison’s, Waitrose, Whole Foods and Sainsbury’s this month.

On the wooden board, you’ll get three dairy-free cheeses – the flavours vary from herbs and smoky cheese to blue wedge, cranberry after dinner and mature cheddar. Yes, yes, yes!

Also, ASDA credits its vegan mince pies with creating a sales surge last Christmas, so you’re bound to see them in stores again this season.

Pieminister Vegan Christmas Pie

Pieminister’s festive range is back, this time introducing a new vegan pie that’s hearty, comforting, and totally delicious.

Chooks Away! – a creamy vegan chicken pie with celeriac, smoked garlic, and sherry – is the second vegan pie released by the brand. The first, Kevin, won a PETA Vegan Food Award this year.

Tofurky Roast and Cheesecake

Tofurky is expanding its range by launching a festive ham-style roast and a brand-new dairy-free cheesecake. The All Vegan Ham Style Roast will be available year-round, but the Chocolate Espresso Cheesecake is set to be a Christmas special, so get your hands on it while you can.

You’ll find the new roast and cheesecake at Ocado.

Tesco Christmas Range

Tesco has released an impressive line-up of vegan products for the festive season, offering the kinds of Christmas delights that make winter worth it.

Indulge in the , Stuffed Half Butternut Squash, Cauliflower Wellington, and Free From Yule Log Cake Kit – which are all ideal dishes to serve at a Christmas get-together. Warning: It may be hard to get people to leave once they’ve tried these.

Why Vegan?

The meat, fishing, egg, and dairy industries are a nightmare for animals, who are treated like a collection of body parts rather than sentient individuals who have the ability to feel pain, fear, and joy.

All animals reared for food suffer. Females are repeatedly forcibly impregnated. Babies are torn away from their mothers, mutilated, kept in filthy and severely crowded conditions, and fed a cocktail of drugs, sometimes causing their bodies to become oversized, resulting in numerous health problems. Then, often when they’re only a few months old, they endure a stressful and terrifying trip to the abattoir, where many are killed while still conscious.

Show that you’re serious about helping animals this Christmas by taking our 30-day vegan pleedge – then tell your friends about it and persuade them to follow your example!
